While others quickly catch on to the graces and terms determined by society, some of us are left in the dark, at a loss in these challenging times, which often puts me in awkward situations, especially in social settings. Let's say it was a pitiful circumstance at my last outing with my sorority sisters. It was as if everyone found a mate with common ground, and I was left to learn how to deal with someone who was more nervous than me. It was awkward since we didn't know how to communicate among those who were already a little sloshed, or were they just enamored? "Do you think they were a bit tipsy before they got here?" His smile was sincere, and there was wine, but we didn't feel the need since it was truly hilarious for both of us to think we were the smart ones, after all.
