You might never feel the same about SUSHI again. Its a film by Kern Saxton. A  feel of THE USUAL SUSPECTS meets HIT GIRL, starring Tony Todd, James Duval and Mark Hamill along with Cortney Palm as Sushi Girl.

Upon his release from prison, Fish is brought to an abandoned restaurant by his old associate, Duke, to celebrate his newfound freedom. However, there's unfinished business that Duke is determined to solve.

If you are in to Tarantino this just might be your cup of tea. Honestly, Hamill is the one who definitely comes, off like something right out of the comic book page.

Fiction Tuesday-DISPLACEMENT

(The book’s watercolors evoke the ocean that surrounds them.) In a book that is part graphic memoir, part travelogue, and part family history, Knisley not only tries to connect with her grandparents, but to reconcile their younger and older selves. She is aided in her quest by her grandfather’s WWII memoir, which is excerpted. Readers will identify with Knisley’s frustration, her fears, her compassion, and her attempts to come to terms with mortality, as she copes with the stress of travel complicated by her grandparents’ frailty.

Here comes another graphic novel by Lucy Knisley.

This graphic novel is about travels with her grandparents. On a cruise. Its autobiographical and enjoyable. You just might read it twice or so.

Oh, you just know, it must be good to sit back and relax now. The boys of Papertowns. Fresh Faced and perfect characters by the book.

Roadtrip time! Oh..what better way for a teen movie base on a book..just in time for summer..Yes, there is fun. Mystery and what ever got into the smart fellow to go after a girl like Margo. 

I think a lot of fans of the book will be proud of this movie. Oh, and there is always the wonderful soundtrack to back it up!

The bromance of Martin and Randall make this film. (Justin Chon and Kevin Wu) Ridiculous haircuts and all!

Of course, you can always get serious with Chon's Revenge of the Green Dragons.

Fiction Tuesday - Rules of Summer

Beaches. Bonfires. Boys. It’s summertime in the Hamptons.

 First in series.

When seventeen-year-old Rory McShane steps off the train in East Hampton, it’s as if she has entered another universe, one populated by impossibly beautiful people wearing designer clothes and driving expensive cars. Upon arrival, she’s warned by other staff members to avoid socializing with the family, but Rory soon learns that may be easier said than done.

Stifled by her friends and her family’s country club scene, seventeen-year-old Isabel Rule, the youngest of the family, embarks on a breathless romance with a guy whom her parents would never approve of. It’s the summer for taking chances, and Isabel is bringing Rory along for the ride.

But will Rory’s own summer romance jeopardize her friendship with Isabel? And, after long-hidden family secrets surface, will the Rules’ picture-perfect world ever be the same?

Now doesn't sound like the best pool-side read ever? True there is a lot of cliche in it, but if you're a Pretty Little Liars fan or somewhere along that list, then the story just might make you smile..a little.

Told from Rory and Isabel's pov's, we might learn that its friendship that counts the most, but there is lots of romance to spice up the story.

Of course, do these girls ever fall for the right guy? 

Oh well, it is a summer read.

K-Pop The Ultimate Audition

OK, if you love boybands, you are sure to want to catch this one. However, in spite of loving Go Eun Ah as much as I do who has the lead as the girl who wants to win in the competition in a boyband..has to pose as a boy..there are a few holes in the story.

My favorite on the show!  gwak yong hwan

I thought all along she was helping her nervous cousin become part of a new K-Pop band, but later we find out that her roommate is in love with her.

And she falls hard for the Pop-Prince, who has a scandalized  past with the Pop-Princess. This is the story of Love/Hate and charm along the way.

I enjoyed how the show emerged the romance between just a girl and the royalty of K-Pop. Yet the end just didn't happen like I hoped it would. Something fell short.

Still, I am glad to find these actors to watch. And I look forward to see them in more shows!

Although, I can't really tell you too much about her. She does like to collaborate with a lot of artists. She's definitely one to watch for.

Oh so mysterious, our main character Ross, who just got back from the Revolution in America. All his kin thought he was dead.

Set with many Jane Austen ways, he's a man of the people who marries his kitchen winch as he struggles to keep his mine going.

The Gallows

Oh..you never know where creepy maybe. Your school! And this time the weapon is a noose.

Saying that, it has a slow start and the movie relies on a lot of suspense, which can only take the viewer so far. Especially, when it has the "homemade" footage, which means you can't see the film very well..and its dark. And teenagers are running, and screaming into the darkness. Doors slam. And wham! You have a horror movie. Oh..and the characters of this movie are  using their 'real' first names. And there is a Nebraska connection. The original town used in the movie is Beatrice, Nebraska. Thanks to the co-director and writer of the film, Chris Lofing who is from Beatrice.
