The Plight of He Chang XI

 He's been around a while with some major Chinese dramas. In fact, he's twenty-eight and is guest-starring in a hot new Chinese drama, In Pursuit of Jade. However, he's been black-listed for starring in one of the first BL dramas that China has brought back. Sammy's Children's Day.

There is something uncanny of his resemblance of one of my favorite Chinese actors. But of course, He doesn't get the roles that he probably should get. He is half Russian.

It's a Hong Kong drama based in the 80's of an unlikely friendship of a college student and a gangster. Oh, and the really bad thing he was captured out with a guy. So AI to the rescue. They've changed his face in this new drama where many viewers were shocked to see. 

Perhaps the headlines will do him good, or maybe he'll just move to Thailand, where there is much more freedom when it comes to dramas that actors can choose. I have also noticed that some up-and-coming Chinese actors who might star in a drama as the main lead usually have fewer lines if they star with an A-list Chinese actress.
