Jordan Gavaris

Nathan is back on New Degrassi on TEENick. Remember from last season in "bad medicine"? When Riley hooked up with the soccer dude he'd gone to camp with from before. Mostly they had a bit of an online thing going. And Riley, the football jock, was rather iffy on his sex preferences. He had tried to kiss Peter and in spite of that, Peter has still remained his friend and is the only one who knows how he truly is.
As the case may or may not be, they do have a thing for the woods in last season. At least, we hear more from Nathan questioning the new girl Riley's seeing.
I so hope Degrassi writers will keep this story going. I really like Jordan for the part. There is a certain sincerity about him. Perhaps sadness...especially, when Riley shuns him. I think this is a much more intense storyline than Marco's. Also its great that he's not pretty pretty..yet he's got sweet lips and cool hair.
I just hope Riley's character won't lash out at Nathan. However, Riley seems rather high strung, and has acted pretty mean to Peter. Seriously, though, these are issues that should be confronted. Many teens, no matter what sort of sexual orientation, do deal with the nature of abuse. Even guys need to be made aware of the fact they can get help in abusive situations.
Jordan Gavaris is a native of Brampton, Onterio. You can catch him hopefully on DVD in 45 R.P.M., a rather indie film yet very intense and getting rave reviews of a coming of age story.

He was such a scene stealer on Unnatural History. Honestly, he was the best thing about the show.

Jordan Gavaris is certainly showing he can keep up in this age of action type TV shows. He's certainly grown as an actor since his Degrassi days. His part was small on the show, yet he was the genuine real deal, then and now. I commend him on his British accent. I love his character Felix. He's great at showing a complicated character who does care yet needs so much, as well. Truly, he was my favorite part of the show.

Was named one of Playback Magazine's Top Ten to Watch for 2010. Past names have included Nina Dobrev and Xavier Dolan.

  2. I've never watched Degrassi before, so I have no idea about any of this, haha... but it sounds like an interesting show indeed :)

  3. I really want to see nathan's character develop on the show. Maybe he's getting fan mail!

  4. I would send him fan mail if I knew where to send it.

  5. After following a few threads on imdb I noticed that he was slated to come back to the show but that he had to turn down the offer because he'd been cast in a new action/drama series for warner brothers, which means he won't be coming back to the show :(
A friend of mine knows the circle he hangs out with in Toronto and apparently his "look" keeps changing. I loved the fact that he wasn't that typical-attractive on degrassi, but it looks like he has gotten pretty afterall, or so my source claims.

  6. He wasn't very attractive for a while, but something's changed about his face in the past six months. Check out the new photo on imdb!!! He's sexxx.

  8. Well..he is a growing guy. So ..you know, hopefully, he won't end up with new tattoos or anything like Trace. Hopefully, there will be fb soon.

  9. Does anyone know if he's gay in real life?

  10. I think that's best a mystery. But its great on all counts he was up for the role. Hopefully, it won't type cast him. Just act. But I see it on the imdb all the time that same question on so many actors We are so curious.

  11. He's not gay, at least not the last time I checked. I'm friends with his girlfriend.

  12. uhhhh... i heard he might be. i mean let's be real, an actor who can play gay probably has a little bit of homo in him. ahaha!

  13. Jess, you should interview him. I'm sure this must have come to a shock to him. I can only wish him the best on the roles he takes. I think he's one of those...if he's got 30 seconds of screen time, he's gonna make it count.

  14. That's probably the most ignorant thing I've ever heard. Was Heath Ledger gay? Is Keir Gilchrest gay? He has a girlfriend. I'm not saying that's indisputable proof - I mean I guess he could be bisexual? Ugh, why is this always such a hot topic for young actors? There's about 100 threads on Zac Efron's message board about him being gay. Who cares anyhow? Any affirmative answer the actor gives would end up destroy the fantasy for someone. I guess maybe they should start all claiming they're bi. It would probably bode well for their careers.

  15. I remember when he got the role, he was really excited actually. He creates a voice for each one of his characters. For Nathan, I remembering him mentioning he'd soften his voice, similar to what he did with his character in 45 RPM.
He actually just got one of the leads on a new series called Unnatural History that'll debut in the fall of 2010 I think. I got to go to set one day when they were shooting at the ROM in Toronto and his character, Jasper, is so different from anything he's done before. He was a final contender for the lead Gus Van Sant's new film but he lost out to Henry Hopper.
I'm not sure what else I can tell you about him other than he's unbelievably nice, a real do-gooder type... He wasn't really popular in high school, not unpopular, but not popular either. He likes wearing Abercrombie and his parents have a home north of Toronto in a region called Caledon I think? He's just such a home-grown kid. He doesn't really go out very much, like to clubs or bars. He'll come out once in a blue moon, but he's such a country boy, loves being outside. He's got fb by the way. Hope that helps.

  16. Jess, I like that about him, what you said. That he's sweet. And I think that's what you see, above all else. And its so amazing to see a fresh face that hasn't been tainted by Hollywood.

  17. So Jess, who's his girlfriend and how long have they been dating?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Well I don't want to give names, because I don't think that's fair to her, but they've been dating since July of this year.

  19. I'll leave my e-mail just in case I could ever get an e-mail interview with him. I highly doubt it, but I'd love to ask him some questions.

  20. I think the girlfriend is just a cover-up.....he's probably not confident enough to come out yet because it might affect his acting career.

  21. Remember, it is his private life, A.

  22. Jordan's girlfriend is Canadian actor Tara Joshi.

  23. Wow a lot of you people need to grow up and stop obsessing over actors and their sexuality. If they do a great job in their roles then wth does it matter?

As for unnatural history. I have been watching it since it started and I think its a great show.

Also Jordan went to the same school as singer skye sweetnam which i think is realy cool.

  24. Lol, the only reason I read this was to see if I could find out. Me and my friend call dibs on actors for some strange reason, and so since I'm gay and she's straight, so gay celebrities get defaulted to me and we're both dibsing on him so, someone with an exact answer would be helpful. And trust me when I say that gay people have girlfriends. So although unlikely, it's possible.

Wishing you Black skies and Clearwater,
    Jordan

  25. For a show to have actors of this caliber and be snubbed by the Emmys, well, the Emmys now take a back seat to Jerry Springer, Keeping Up with Kardashians and Dr. Phil in my book, and those are nothing more than sleaze TV.
