Eura in the opening scene of Skins |

I have mixed feeling about the show. For starters, the first episode was much like the orginal with a few changes. The big one..NO MAXXIE. And I'm not sure if this female version just isn't the lesbian from hell. Which is quite a shame. I can think of better lesbian storylines.
But it is SKINS...so you can expect the crass, the unstable and undoubtedly can come off as being a nuisance.
The only bright shining stars..other than the music is Stanly (Daniel Flaherty) and Cadie (Britne Oldford) (original version Sid & Cassie). Naturally, Stan has his Michael Cera thing going for him and Cadie, well, she's delicate and absolutely beautiful. The rest of the cast..just animals...it seems..at least at the moment.
But I'll watch. I absolutely fell in love with "My Girls" by Animal Collective in the very first scene. The music is just as much a character to the show as the cast. Oddly, the actress who plays Tony's sister comes off very Hannah Murray.
Eleanor Zichy plays mysterious Eura who is Tony's sister |
Hopefully Daniel will make Stanly his own character. |
I haven't watched the UK version, so I don't feel right watch the US version, if that makes any sense. But yeah, from what I've hard it seems like it didn't live up to the original, which I can understand. America always ruins everything, haha! ;P
ReplyDeleteit does look like a disaster waiting to happen.
ReplyDeleteI watched the trailer not too long ago, but I can't say it piqued my interest in any way. I really don't think I'll be watching. :/
ReplyDeleteI wasn't that fond of the cast. I did like Stan...sort of..and maybe Cadie
ReplyDeleteHmmm...maybe I'll watch this. I wasn't interested when I saw the trailer. Thanks for the review.
ReplyDeleteLOVE!
It'll take some time..getting used to these guys..by then..it'll probably be over.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review, definitely will check it out!
ReplyDeleteOh, I feel I have to watch it. Just have too.
ReplyDeleteI pretty much completely agree with your review. Stanley and Cadie are the only reason I'm actually watching the show to be honest.
