Paul - movie review

Finally saw this after being told by one of my closest friends..not to see it. So I went with my other friend, and we both had so many laughs. We loved it. If you like outer space alien movie and want to see how two writers and actors like Nick Frost and Simon Pigg could have so much fun... at making fun of these kind of films, you might just enjoy it. Of course, I have loved these two guys ever since Shaun of the the Dead.

Nick and Simon are Clive and Graham on their American vacation which means a nerdy writer and artist going to a comic convention. They take in sights and a few laughs began as they go on their roadtrip to see those wacky places where aliens may have landed and been.

So many quirky things begin to happen. Of course, everyone thinks of them as those gay Brits. They run into some of the locals out in the dessert played by David Koechner and Jesse Plemons, two rednecks that give the guys a hard time. So off they go after bumping into the rednecks' tuck they go off on their adventure.

Its out in the middle of nowhere that they respond to a horrific car-accident. Just when they hope to call for help, well..an alien form appears. Paul, played..none other than that wonderful Seth Rogen. He gives them quite an adventure. Naturally, the bad men in black suits aren't far behind. Jason Bateman leads the way along with Jon Hader and Jo Lo Truglio.

Some surprising performances by Jane Lynch and Kristen Wigg. Seriously, in spite of a potty-mouth joke here and there, it really is quite heart-felt. Along with lots of laughs and some wonderful character development it is quite a show that you might just have to buy on DVD. I loved the soundtrack too.

STORYLINE: Simon Pegg and Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead) reunite for the comedy adventure Paul as two sci-fi geeks whose pilgrimage takes them to America's UFO heartland. While there, they accidentally meet an alien who brings them on an insane road trip that alters their universe forever. For the past 60 years, an alien named Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen) has been hanging out at a top-secret military base. When he discovers he's been taken prisoner, the space-traveling smart ass decides to escape the compound and hop on the first vehicle out of town-a rented RV containing Earthlings Graeme Willy (Pegg) and Clive Gollings (Frost). Chased by federal agents and the fanatical father of a young woman that they accidentally kidnap, Graeme and Clive hatch a fumbling escape plan to return Paul to his mother ship. And as two nerds struggle to help, one little green man might just take his fellow outcasts from misfits to intergalactic heroes...
