Bridesmaids - movie review

So this is the answer to the woman's HANGOVER....

Granted, there might be some that have too much integrity to sit through it. They might just might walk out after the first scene, but if you are willing to stick this one out, you'll come out laughing and remembering the moments you cried too.

Here you have the life of Annie, who is possibly at her lowest. Its great to see Kristen Wiig in the main role. She also co-wrote this script with Annie Mumolo. These two truly came up with some very unique and real characters. You can see the real Annie in an airplane scene with Kristen in the movie.

Anyway, while everything is falling apart for Annie. Her job, her love life even her living situation with two strange Brit twins played by Gil Lucas and Rebel Wilson (I thought for a bit it was Gil playing both parts). These two are such scene stealers. Oh, back to the story....Her childhood friend Maya Rudolph has found love and is getting married. Well..now you know how the bridesmaids come in.

And they are such an awesome bunch. Melissa McCarthy plays the grooms sister Megan. I've always loved her in all her supporting roles, but she is like I've never seen her before. So tuff and yet a heart of gold. Ellie Kemper and Windi McLendon-Covey are bridesmaids, as well. Ellie's character is a newly-wed while Windi's in a rather bitter marriage. Each have something real to give to the movie about married life. Then there is Rose Byrne who is the boss' wife who is rich and has taken the bride under her wing. Naturally, let the battle begin of the Bridemaids.

There are several strange and funny moments through the film. One has to to wonder how far or low it will go. While Jon Hamm plays the worst guy to ever get involved with, we just can't wait to hate his Ted. There is the redeeming character Rhodes (the cop who pulls Annie over) played by Chris O'Dowd to love.

This movie is packed with so many interesting scenes and characters. There are many laughs. Some might make you a little sick to watch. Seriously it is a fun movie. On the down side, its kind of long. One might wonder if it could have been edited..somewhere more, but then again, we wouldn't want to give up any of the scenes, either.

Its not a movie just for girls. I think the guys will find some good laughs too.

STORYLINE: Annie (Kristen Wiig), is a maid of honor whose life unravels as she leads her best friend, Lillian (Maya Rudolph), and a group of colorful bridesmaids (Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Ellie Kemper) on a wild ride down the road to matrimony. Annie's life is a mess. But when she finds out her lifetime best friend is engaged, she simply must serve as Lillian's maid of honor. Though lovelorn and broke, Annie bluffs her way through the expensive and bizarre rituals. With one chance to get it perfect, she'll show Lillian and her bridesmaids just how far you'll go for someone you love.
