Abduction - movie review

The pros and cons of being in the Twilight movies.

1. You have legions of fans.
2. They expect you to be a certain someone.
3. There are only certain stares for the camera. Especially, ones where you look like you might run off to the woods to become a werewolf.
4. You really don't have to learn to act.

This movie has such an all star cast. Sigourney Weaver, Jason Issacs, Maria Bello, And Michael Nyqvist along with Lily Collins and of course, Taylor Lautner. But the writing just wasn't there. Especially, when you have Sigourney Weaver say "Okie dokie..." The plot is 'half-baked', chase scene that are a bit predictable. And the one sexy scene that might have gone somewhere hardly got started..and she says she's hungry? Not exactly, where you think the story should be going.

Sure this shows off some of Taylor's marshal arts skills. He does a lot of his own stunts. Yet there is just something cold as ice at every line he delivers. Does he have what it takes to be the next James Bond Jr. ?

He might need a heavy dose of acting lessons, preferably in Britain. Come back and play a cold blooded killer. Then he might be actor worthy.

Rumor has it they are no longer dating.

There was a complaint that Lily Collins was just a plain jane in the movie. I couldn't say she made Lautner look any better, nor did he do anything for her. Perhaps they were compatible enough. Of course, you might not have to do much to cater to some fans. But for those who were hoping for Launter to leave his Twilight behind..this is not the movie to do it for him.

STORYLINE: A thriller centered on a young man who sets out to uncover the truth about his life after finding his baby photo on a missing persons website.
  Director: John Singleton
Writer: Shawn Christensen

  1. A family friend wrote this and Taylor Lautner was accidently cast for it..but still, I would never in a million years see this.

  5. To me..it seemed this film was specifically made for Taylor. He and his Dad produced it. He has his fans. I'm sure he knows what they want..in spite of everything.

  8. I'd love to see Taylor Kitsch in anything. But I don't think this would be it. Really, it did seem a good role for Lautner.

  10. I've been debating on seeing this one. The trailer looked kinda corny. Based on your review, I'll probably just wait until it comes out on dvd.

  12. I actually have seen this movie and I found it quite interesting... In the twilight saga, I must admit, I am team Jacob and I love Taylor. So, this movie reached my expectations at some point...
