THE THING - movie review

You might not recognize her since Scott Pilgrim, but Mary Elisabeth Winstead puts herself out there for this chilling and suspenseful prequel of THE THING. After all, she was in Death Proof. Honestly, though, I found her unrecognizable, but she was definitely the clever scientist out to figure out what was going on in this very visual film.

Erich Christian Olsen was in the film as well. He can't help but be ..just a little funny in the film. But for the most part this is a very serious film. And fans of the first THE THING should be pleased with this cast and special effects.

Joel Edgerton is the other American in this film, as the helicopter pilot. Although, Joel is from Australia.

This film is possibly more suspense than gore. But it certainly takes a spin at the thing. If you like ice, the cold and lots of twists and turns, you are sure to enjoy this film.

Who knows, Mary Elsabeth Winstead might be the new Sigourney Weaver of horror.

STORYLINE: At an Antarctica research site, the discovery of an alien craft leads to a confrontation between graduate student Kate Lloyd and scientist Dr. Sander Halvorson. While Dr. Halvorson keeps to his research, Kate partners with Sam Carter, a helicopter pilot, to pursue the alien life form.
