Chronicle

This movie definitely has an independent feel to it. Its definitely outside of the Hollywood box, so to speak, but plenty are thinking of it as the new cult classic.

“ I am an Apex Predator. “-Andrew

Take three unknown actors (although, I'd watch anything Dane DeHaan was in or Michael B. Jordan! Alex Russell is definitely the new Ashton Kutcher) make them three high school guys who find something spectacular one night at a party and wham! They've got super powers! It a movie that answers those questions, like How did I get this power? Am I a superhero?

And what if one of those boys was the guy who was bullied at school and at home, how would he handle such a power? Perhaps the movie is flawed in places. The way its filmed, yet this is a way of capturing the story as it happens. And those screen shots just gets better as the story progresses.

Dane DeHaan's performance is brilliant. His Andrew is shy and under so much pressure at home with his sick mother and a father who doesn't even want to try to understand him. Trivia moment: his Andrew finally gets to go to a party and hooks up with the pink haired girl. In real-life the pink haired girl is Dane's real girl-friend,  Anna Wood.

Coolest moments has to be when all three are flying in the clouds.

This is a film that will have you laughing one moment and very intense the next. Its a high school boy's dream. Its a movie that a couple of young  filmmakers, Josh Trank and Max Landis must be all smiles about at the box office.

STORYLINE: Three high school friends gain superpowers after making an incredible discovery. Soon, though, they find their lives spinning out of control and their bond tested as they embrace their darker sides.
