17 Girls

17 Girls is a French film based on true events that happened in America.

STORYLINE: Seventeen teenage schoolmates decide to become pregnant at the same time.

I watched 17 Girls (17 Filles) today at the San Francisco International Film Festival.  Louise Grinberg is the star and I could watch her speak french for hours…
The film, by sisters Delphine Coulin & Muriel Coulin, is based on a (surprisingly) true story: 17 Girls follows a group of teenage schoolgirls who make a pact to get pregnant.
Such a beautiful film, really enjoyed it.-6foot4

When Camille (Louise Grinberg) finds herself pregnant at school, suddenly, its a new re-invention of a new past-time for all her friends and girls who would be her friend.

Yet, its very French. Dreamy, and perhaps its really an unknown reason as to why they really did it. Honestly, its a study of friendship. While some will compare the film to Sofia Coppola's Virgin Suicides. This is a story about birth, instead of death.

aroused by camille’s radical vision of emancipating themselves from their parents and starting beautiful, new lives together as one big communal family of baby-bearing BFFs, the girls descend upon a midnight beach party of unsuspecting boys to get the revolution started. within weeks, the school nurse is overrun with girls giddily requesting pregnancy tests followed by hallway giggles and high-fives.-Ticket For One

I’m sorry, but I’m trying really hard to figure out just why in the world would 17 girls intentionally get pregnant at the same time? Goodness, movies these days.-she's known as

I’m a bit surprised that a French movie studio is behind a movie about the real life events in Gloucester, Mass. where 17 high school girls got pregnant. It was a crazy story at the time in 2008 because the initial story was that the girls made a pregnancy pact at 16 to all get knocked-up and live in a big house and take care of their kids together.-slyoyster
