Red Dawn

Is it bad that after watching Red Dawn I want an enemy invasion to happen just so I can prove myself as a Guerrilla?-sourwolf

What you might not know...

Originally scheduled to be released on November 24, 2010, the film was shelved due to MGM's financial troubles. While in post-production, the invading army was changed from Chinese to North Korean in order to maintain access to China's box office.

Also...

Chris Hemsworth and Isabel Lucas were both in the Australian soap opera "Home and Away" and dated in real life.

And...

Shot and completed in 2009.

Some other facts. The invading army in the original 1984 movie (starring Patrick Swayze) was the Soviet Union, which no longer exists, and Cuba. Korea was chosen as the enemy in this updated version. The invading army was originally Chinese but changed to North Koreans to maintain access for international release.

Just like its predecessor, Red Dawn focuses on a small American town that is rapidly occupied by a foreign military power, this time North Korea. After parachuting in and establishing a military regime, a band of high school kids and one marine (Chris Hemsworth) ban together to fight the technology superb country in an effort to reclaim their city. As noble as the plot seems, the idea that a bunch of kids with no combat experience can put up a major resistance is a bit of a stretch to most. Nevertheless this film is a chronicle about how American Pride and cowboyism can be a deadly combination in fighting off bad guys.-Robbie K.

Marines don’t die, they just go to hell and regroup.

It was better than what I had expected since some of the reviews were pretty harsh. My friend and I felt excited and patriotic after words. ahh the use of propaganda.  Ironic since my high school are the Wolverines as well.  But can I have a Jed of my own? but to some it all up, Chris Hemsworth’s face was well worth my money.-Klawh
