Silver Linings Playbook

This film had some splendid performances in it. Great cast, for sure. Honestly, my favorite movie of Bradley Coopers. And Jennifer Lawrence was fierce on screen. I loved their dance moves!

Unfortunately, this movie does not follow the book at all. Its given a sweet Hollywood ending too. But no one may really care. This is a film that deals with a hot topic these days, Mental illness. It gives us a small look at how families deal with this at home and how one might wonder if its inherited by what we learn at home or only in the genes. So this just might be the film that makes it this year with the awards. Its hard to say.

The two main characters in this are so interesting to watch because they’re both very emotionally unstable and damaged.  Cooper plays Pat Solitano, a former history teacher who comes out of a mental institution after eight months because of his bipolar disorder that led him to beating his wife’s lover practically to death.  Lawrence plays Pat’s friend’s sister in law who is a widow that has her own deep-seated issues.  And the way these two react off each other is so fascinating.  It’s not like your typical romantic comedy bullshit.  These are both very troubled people who are slowly trying to get past their own crippling anxieties. -Proz

    Silver Linings Playbook is literally one of the best movies I have ever seen. It is probably the only movie that I have ever liked more than the book. Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper’s performances were absolutely phenomenal. I loved how some other major actors and actresses played minor roles. For instance, Robert DiNero played the dad and Julia Stiles played Bradley Cooper’s best friend’s wife. I mean, it is one of my favorite movies at the moment. -Flowers

STORYLINE: Life doesn't always go according to plan. Pat Solatano has lost everything - his house, his job, and his wife. He now finds himself living back with his mother and father after spending eight months in a state institution on a plea bargain. Pat is determined to rebuild his life, remain positive and reunite with his wife, despite the challenging circumstances of their separation. All Pat's parents want is for him to get back on his feet - and to share their family's obsession with the Philadelphia Eagles football team. When Pat meets Tiffany, a mysterious girl with problems of her own, things get complicated. Tiffany offers to help Pat reconnect with his wife, but only if he'll do something very important for her in return. As their deal plays out, an unexpected bond begins to form between them, and silver linings appear in both of their lives.
