Hemlock Grove

Eli Roth was definitely impressed with Brian McGreevy's novel Hemlock Grove. But many will tell you they feel the characters of the gothic novel weren't completely flushed to its maxim which might be Netflix's series major flaw. Along with a bad script. Bad acting and jumping it along, in case those out there think its just too gay.

Honestly, this horror series is a bromance between Peter (Landon Liberon) and Roman (Bill SkarsgÄrd). Soon enough, we know Peter is more than a gypsy boy. But what is Roman..exactly? Oh, he's a rich kid, lady killer? Hmmm..an Angel? hum, there it that thing..that need for blood. Oh, what an unlikely duo.

Truly, these two are the best part of the show.

There are times, early on..you're thinking..Get a room already..but we don't exactly go there.

Instead, Famke Janssen must have the worst accent ever. Perhaps, she's from Transylvania. Oh..but what a she-devil who so happens to be Roman's mother. While Lily Taylor has to be the best gypsy mom around for Peter.

I'm sure you've heard it before. Its such a terrible show. Still something sucks you in. Maybe its Roth's ability, or you just can't get enough of the eye candy, nor the idea of just how far this show will go.

Then there are some of us who feel really sad for Shelly (Amazon eye girl), and perhaps she is the sister who makes Roman human yet still not quite complete. But then we could watch Roman smoke cigarettes for a good half hour.

Of course, in episode two is the very interesting transition of Peter into a wolf..thus it gives a whole knew meaning to Peter and the wolf.

Some of the episodes do lag, but the show will possibly leave you begging for more. Just what Eli Roth wanted all along.
