Alphas

If there is one show that I wish that would come back to the SyFy chanel it would Alphas.

It was a show a lot like NBC's Heroes. While that show was all over the place, leaving you practically lost as to where the show might go or do with these people with special powers... Alphas at least had some one practical at the helm who found those special people who could help solve mysteries and crimes while they were finding more people with special powers.

What made the show work?

It helps to have a great cast. And the leader of the group was Dr. Lee Rosen played by the wonderful and always trustworthy David Strathaim.

And amazingly, Ryan Cartwright got second billing on the show. His Gary Bell was genius. Playing autistic Gary let Ryan have some of the best lines on the show. Yes, Gary Bell is one of my all time favorite characters on TV.

It was great to see Warren Christie play a good guy as Cameron Hicks. Of course, Cameron had mixed feelings about his powers. It was fun watching Hick's romance progress with Laura Mennell's Nina who had the power of suggestion which she could take to a whole new level.

There was also the wonderful Azita Ghanizada as Rachel, who was so precise and could always figure out what was going on through smell and sight.

To round out the group was the strong hold and bold Malik Yoba as Bill.

The group was a special team helping out a lot of bad situations for the government. I found the characters interesting and how they interacted with each other. Unfortunately, there were only 2 seasons of the show. And the ending did not set well with fans. Leaving Gary alone among the dead.

Yes, if there is any show out here that needs a movie ending, I'm pretty sure its Alphas.

The superhero drama was cancelled by Syfy earlier this year and the second season has been released exclusively, but the wide-release is finally on its way(July 26th). The 3-disc DVD set will be priced at $44.98 SRP.
