The Great Gatsby

In Case You didn't Know...An adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's Long Island-set novel, where Midwesterner Nick Carraway is lured into the lavish world of his neighbor, Jay Gatsby. Soon enough, however, Carraway will see through the cracks of Gatsby's nouveau riche existence, where obsession, madness, and tragedy await.

OK, this movie has so much to love from the music to the mood and the atmosphere and of course, that amazing Daisy..but don't forget the endearing bromance between Tobey and Leo...Nick and Jay. Jay definitely needed a real friend. And Nick was smitten in the most unusual way. After all, we would have never had the story of Gatsby if it weren't for Nick.-ellie

“They’re a rotten crowd. You’re worth the whole damn bunch put together.
- Nick Carraway
More than a tea-party! I loved the fashion and the scene in this epic movie!

This is a classic that will forever be a part of English class. As we fall in love with the beauty of this film as well as we did with the writer's amazing prose..still, one has to wonder of the twisted plot..as if maybe it wasn't so twisted, after all. Like, who exchanges cars like that? And why..oh why would you have to go to the city to cool off when you have such splendor at your fingertips? Still we see that Daisy is only human, and maybe not nearly as wonderful as Jay always thought. I think its a book that when read young you see a certain youth to it, but when you look back on it a decade older, even you might find that you are wiser now and these characters were all stuck in the past..not just Jay.-mazzymay

Some lady on TV said that The Great Gatsby isn’t worth seeing because it’s over 2 hours long. Quite frankly, it could be 5 hours long and I’d still see it because Leo and Toby are in it.-romanhollows

“Hot summer nights, mid July, when you and I were forever wild, the crazy days, city lights, the way you’d play with me like a child, Will you still love me when I’m no longer young and beautiful ?”
Young and beautiful - Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey's song was my favorite on the Great Gatsby soundtrack.

Jordan Baker(Elizabeth Debicki) putting on the glam! She was truly cool in this movie, but we never got the flavor that Nick really wanted to have anything to do with her.
Only Leo could do Jay such justice in this movie. A mystery millionaire, part imposter yet full of ingenuity out to bring back someone he loves most, and would still do anything for her. I hope Leo is up for lots of awards as Gatsby.

In case you didn't know..LOVED IT!
