Clipping Adam

It just might be the film that launched Evan Peters career. It's kind of one of those After School Special kind of films that was made in 2004. Even so, it really is a film with a lot of heart.

Evan stars and Adam Sheperd. Despite what he says, Adam is not "fine". The summer before freshman year should be a time full of possibilities, but Adam struggles with family tragedy, everyday teenage growing pains, and the very real threat of high school hazing. Fortunately, Adam finds allies (some likely, some unlikely) who help him repair his heartache as well as his ailing relationship with his father. Set in a small, Southern California beach town, Adam discovers the inner strength one can find with the support of a community. His story is proof of the notion that with the help of family and friends, you can always find your way back home.

Its the priest, Kevin Sorbo (Hercules) as Father Dan who listens to him. Perhaps Adam helps Father Dan in the long run too. Although, Adam, can't  say why he hasn't cut his hair since the car accident that took his Mom and little sister.

This a movie about grief. Its also a story about bullying too. Jordan Butcher plays the senior who is going around during the summer shaving soon to be Freshman boy's heads.

Honestly, its a tender movie and Evan definitely plays a very moving Adam who's dealing more with family crisis than he even knows. His grandmother played by the amazing Louise Fletcher can only do so much with a father who's failing as being a provider from the distress of losing a life he once knew.

This is a film that plays out with a certain realistic balance. Thankfully, a friend lended me a copy to watch. If you have a chance to watch it, its a great little gem. And family approved.

Clipping Adam is such a good film.
I mean it! Yes, the script doesn’t posses all the colours of participial turnovers and complex sentences, but it came out incredibly graceful and harmonious making you feel touchingly sad and delightful at the same time. I really enjoyed it.
and of course, Evan’s smile. no one could resist his adorable smile.-V
