Matthew Macfadyen

I'll always think of him as the perfect Mr. Darcy in PRIDE & PREJUDICE.

There are many sides of Matthew Macfadyen. He's been in the Three Musketeers. He was in the original Death At a Funeral. He played the Sheriff of Notthingham in Robin Hood. He's also done a lot of TV work in the UK with such great dramas as Criminal Justice and The Way We Live Now.

His Det. Insp. Edmund Reid on Ripper Street is quite complex and oh so intriguing. I'm definitely hooked on this show thanks to his way of making period pieces so very real and poignant. Honestly, I hope Armie Hammer will get more roles like Matthew. Macfadyen has definitely graceful gone from those prince charming roles to main stream male roles. We just can't seem to get enough of him lately. He's making the movie Epic.

  3. Yeah, Armie is sort of an American version of him. I hope he gets more gritty roles.
