Vampire Academy

OMG...I had no idea this movie would be so fun, but it is a riot. Probably because its from the director of MEAN GIRLS. Even so, Zoey Deutch is one actress to be reckoning with. She might be Lea Thompson's daughter, however, there is something so Mary Stuart Masterson about her demeanor. Its great she has a wonderful movie like this to show off all her talents from comedic to all seriousness.

I found the whole cast incredible talented. And it did have some extraordinary list with Gabriel Byrne, Joely Richardson and Clare Foy. And those were more or less the cameos.

I thought Danila Kozlovsky made the perfect Dimitri. It was so great to see this Russian actor in an American movie.

Honestly, though..you don't have to read the book to enjoy this movie. And I think the movie justified the book too. Rose (Zoey Deutch) is the guardian of princess Lissa (Lucy Fry) and she definitely can see what the princess is up too, most of the time. Add a handsome vampire who is smitten with Lissa and loves to play with fire, played by Dominic Sherwood as Christian and you have all the makings of a very cool paranormal romance that kicks ass when the bad vamps are near.

I really enjoyed this film and I would watch it again for the humor and wit as well as the action in the film.

STORYLINE: Rose Hathaway is a dhampir, half-vampire and half-human, who is training to be a guardian at St Vladimir's Academy along with many others like her. There are good and bad vampires in their world: Moroi, who co-exist peacefully among the humans and only take blood from donors, and also possess the ability to control one of the four elements - water, earth, fire or air; and Strigoi, blood-sucking, evil vampires who drink to kill. Rose and other dhampir guardians are trained to protect Moroi and kill Strigoi throughout their education. Along with her best friend, Princess Vasilisa Dragomir, a Moroi and the last of her line, with whom she has a nigh unbreakable bond, Rose must run away from St Vladimir's, in order to protect Lissa from those who wish to harm the princess and use her for their own means.
