if I Stay

Yet again another YA novel makes it to the big screen. Yes, we are in love with sad love stories. And if you aren't in the mood for one, well..you better skip this one.

I'm not saying it was cheesy or anything. True, it drew you in. Its a movie where grunge meets classical music. Of course, this might be just a tad outdated. I mean, too bad we couldn't have gotten a Shins song in the mix.

The film is shot lovely and you have such a beautiful Chloe Grace Moretz as Mia. Of course, many who love the book would tell you..that not my Mia. Someone along the lines of Lucy Hale might should have been a better fit, but when the emotions start coming..well..Chloe gets the job done. Still there is something cliche about the film, but some felt that way about the book, too.

And there is no denying Jamie Blakely makes a wonderful rocker Adam. Of course, Jamie might be known for his more grittier roles in British film, and Adam really never had family until he meets Mia's.

The movie plays out in a lot of flashback, but you know when it in the present. One of my favorite moments is Stacey Keach as Grandpa.

This is definitely a teenage girl's dream. It definitely delivers for that crowd. I thought the soundtrack was great and I didn't find the movie cheesy either. Still..when the end comes..well...
