NonFiction Tuesday - The Book of Joan

Review

“Melissa [Rivers] weaves together anecdotes, memories, speeches, lists and advice to create a sweet, personal narrative infused with Joan's trademark wit… Like any great standup comedian's act, the short chapters keep the audience wanting more, and her writing echoes her mother's self-deprecating, saucy tone.”—Associated Press

About the Author

MELISSA RIVERS is an Ivy League graduate, co-creator of the Red Carpet franchise, and the executive producer for the E! Entertainment series, Fashion Police. She is also the mother of a fourteen-year-old son, Cooper, who seems to have taken after his grandmother. Melissa is asking for prayers for her sanity.

I can't think of anyone closer to their mother than Melissa Rivers. These two had such a special relationship, It definitely shook the entertainment world with Joan's sudden exit. Melissa needed to write this book and as an audience we needed it too.

In this wonderfully delightful book Melissa Rivers, a great storyteller, and comedian in her own right, easily picks up where her mother left off with: "The Book of Joan: Tales of Mirth, Mischief, and Manipulation".-Melissa

I think Melissa did a great job in writing this book. Considering the fact that she was grieving while writing it. The book will make you laugh & tear up at times. I admire her strength & willingness to push through this hard time. I'm sure Joan is beaming with pride. I highly recommend this book!! Loved it!!!-Lori
