The Witch

 The family portrayed in the film, (Their surname is never given) is a devout Christian family whose head, William, preaches something different than what the rest of the village believes and he and his family is banished from the village. He takes his family, his wife, Katherine and their four children, Thomasin, Caleb, Mercy and Jonas into the wilderness. They set up a homestead where their fifth child, Samuel, is born.

 All seems fine until little Samuel disappears without a trace. Wracked by grief, Katherine blames Thomasin for the disappearance, as their eldest daughter was watching the child at the time. Unbeknownst to the family, a witch lives in the woods surrounding the homestead and uses him for a ritual. This starts a chain of events that lead to finger pointing and Thomasin being accused of being a witch, very reminiscent of the Salem Trials. As members of the family die one by one, they turn on one another. Which allows evil to take hold.-Frozen Pages

Truly, not your run of the mill horror film. Costuming and acting are very real, too.
