Fiction Tuesday - Calendar Girl series

Audrey Carlan is a #1 New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal bestselling author. She writes wicked hot love stories that are designed to give the reader a romantic experience that’s sexy, sweet, and so hot your e-reader might melt. Some of her works include the wildly successful Calendar Girl Serial, Falling Series, and the Trinity Trilogy.
She lives in the California Valley where she enjoys her two children and the love of her life. When she’s not writing, you can find her teaching yoga, sipping wine with her “soul sisters” or with her nose stuck in a wicked hot romance novel.
You might you find that you like some months better than others in this HOT series. Many are finding this series infectious!

Mia has a bad habit of falling in love with people she’s been intimate with. One of these people is a very bad loan shark in Vegas…where her alcoholic, addicted-to-gambling dad still lives. (See where this is going yet?)
Her dad ends up in a coma because he can’t make his payments on time and he owes a million big ones.
Cut to Mia, who, very conveniently, has an Aunt Millie who runs an escort business. They make a deal and Mia has her first month with a money-maker all squared away.
She’s ready to be bored, but then she meets Wes. I fell for Wes. An alpha type who is actually kind to people, loves his family, and is a surfer. Seriously? Mia has no chance.-good-for-the-mind

One has to wonder if the stories are too hurried. Some might feel the characters aren't quite as special as you'd want them to be. If you want a quick fix when it comes to a short read, well..here is your gal, Audrey Carlan! Still, I think of this series as more New Adult than Erotica. OK..I could be completely wrong about that.. =) Since everybody wants some of this series. 2 display tables were recently presented at our local Barnes and Nobles. Although, New Adult novels seem to be trending for the female reader these days. Still what would Jane Austen think? Some reviewers comparing Carlan's male characters to Mr. Darcy. Oh my!

  1. I've been hearing a lot of hype about this series. It definitely isn't something I'd reach for - I'm just not into adult / erotica novels. :/

  2. Well, I found her book in our library, but it wasn't CALENDAR GIRL..but a math book. So I guess she was a technical writer ..or nonfiction, at one time.
