Kaori & Ellie prt. 1

Kaori & Ellie prt.1

* a story I wrote for my Japanese friend Kaori.....

It was the first snow. No, no bits of flakes about in the sky, but a real blanket of snow making everything so cold!

Kaori shivered thinking this was no time to worry about knitting scarves. She needed to find all her warm stuff now. But here she was with Ellie down at the Ramen shop serving up bowls of hot goodness to anyone who stepped in.

"You aren't coming down with something, are you?" Her friend and co-worker Ellie asked as she handed a big mug of tea to her.

Kaori shook her head no, but she couldn't take her eyes off the illuminating snow. It was nightfall, in fact. She really hated the idea to walk home alone, after work.

"Is J bringing you down, again?" Ellie wanted to know as she went to wipe down the counter.

Koari cradled the mug of tea and breathed in the warmth. She pressed her lips tight, and shook her head, no.

But it might have been a lie. Sometimes, he was so secretive. Still, he was the only guy for her, even if he was quite, most of the time.

The door jingled. Everyone looked to see who to serve.

Of course, it wasn't J, but that American born Micky Chen.

Naturally, he smiled to Kaori, who was ready to hide. Oh, he was way to nice to her, but Ellie gave the menu to Kaori, as if it was her turn to wait on someone.

Kaori glared back at Ellie. No way could she get mixed up with him. After all, her heart belonged to J, but she hadn't heard from him. Why couldn't he text her? She was so mad, but she put on a smile. She must be nice to the customers.
