Kaori & Ellie prt.22

Kaori & Ellie prt. 23

Ellie hated to hear Kaori cry over the phone. It was a good thing they weren't on SnapChat, then Kaori would know how upset Ellie was, too.

"I'm sorry." It seemed it was all Ellie could manage to say. "I didn't mean to keep anything from you." She winced more tears, thinking back how it used to be, the two of them. "I guess..I..I didn't want to trouble you. You, were so happy with J. Making plans." She wished she knew why she did the things she did. Perhaps, she wasn't even good enough to be Kaori's friend.

Tears dripped down her face.

Oh, why was she crying, so much?

She could look back and wonder how life might be if she'd never left the little village she barely remembered now. Everyone knew, her father as the town drunk, Of course, things were only slightly better when she moved to Seoul. But it was hard, even when the dry cleaning family took her in.

She wondered now if she'd just been selfish, getting out on her own. Yet, she'd never felt she was quite on her own, and now to be mixed up with the American. It felt as if this little world  on the Internet had collided with reality.

"Its really not a big deal." She believed anyway. Not anything as important as Kaori's marriage. "It will be OK." She managed to say.

"But, you're important to me." Kaori told her. "I want to know. I want to help. You're my closest friend. You're are family, to me."

Ellie was happy to hear Kaori's words. Still, she felt as if her tears were endless.
