Violet knew Yugi long before Tan came along. She'd grown up in his neighborhood, and he might as well have been a close uncle.

When the kids at school started to spread rumors about Yugi and his alternative lifestyle, Violet gave a shrug. She would always love Yugi. She didn't care. She accepted who he was. Yugi was a dear friend of the family, who was always there to help out. And as luck would have it, she was there to help with Tan when he was born.

Yugi's girlfriend came and went. After all, it was Yugi's family who raised Tan for the most part, but they were glad Yugi was on his own now. Of course, she was there to help take Tan to school and see after him when it was over. Tan was like a favorite nephew.

Up until now, Tan was basically the only male in her life, and then she saw Nico.

Happiness, pounded through her chest. She was certain she might faint, but instead she smiled like an idiot and stumbled through words, hoping he'd say yes, to her working at the noodle shop.

"You're kind of young." He almost squinted a smile.

"What? No, I'm almost seventeen." She promised, although, that would be practically a year away.

"Are you sure?" He told her he was certain she was only 13.

Violet crossed her arms and did her best to be in a pout. She would show him.

"Let me try." She practically demanded.

People were coming in. They needed to be served.

Nico shook his head. He didn't have time for this. She snatched the order pad from him. She was determined to get this job.
