Kaori & Ellie prt. 35

Kaori & Ellie prt. 35

Was he going to be here all the time, thought Ellie. This made the fifth night in a row that Min-ho showed up ... for something.

Ellie suspected a meal. So, she scrounged up something with ramen, and they would talk about places they'd never been before, movies they'd yet to see. He'd offered her a bed. Of course, it was suppose to be for the marriage that didn't happen. It felt like a bad omen to her. Anyway, she'd taken care of finding her own queen sized bed.

It was her first purchase with her credit card. Of course, she put a hefty down payment on it.

Now, he told her she needed a new phone. He studied it and told her it was out of date, even if it wasn't a flip-phone.

"You, could have my old one, its newer than this." He informed her.

"That's all right." She smiled back and took her phone from him. No way, did she want to owe him a thing.

Funny, how she never thought they would be friends. Kaori was right about him. Min-ho had a certain arrogance about him. She guessed he couldn't help it. Maybe it was because he was an only child. But then again, so was she.

Still, he seemed wealthy, and he was about to marry into a wealthy family. But it didn't happen.

Actually, he was suppose to get married on the same day as Kaori and J.

But, they didn't talk about weddings now. No, Min-ho talked and Ellie cleaned up. After all these consistent days of having Min-ho around, Ellie knew why his bride left him at the alter. He talked too much. But before she could tell him this, someone was knocking at the door.

There was Nico with practically a teenager.

"What are you doing here?" She didn't think he could find her place. It wasn't exactly in the neighborhood. Still, it wasn't that far, either. But he'd brought food. Both, were carrying bags of food.

"Aren't you suppose to be working?" Ellie asked.

"It was slow, tonight." He didn't sound bothered about it. He was even lipped. Somehow, he'd survived without her, with a little help from Violet.

Ellie sighed.

She hated seeing her past, in front of her. But here Nico was, and he was with a girl. Ellie couldn't help but wince.
