I guess it was late may when we had a tornado here. I didn't think much about it, even after the sirens went off. I continued to watch the K-drama in bed on my iPad. Our power didn't even go off.
It wasn't until the next day, I heard the news about a tornado wiping out houses in a new development. Also power was out, everywhere. Except at our house.
We'd made a Trader Joe's run that day and ran into all sorts of problems getting into Omaha with no lights to police the way.
It wasn't until later that weekend I found out the neighbors didn't have power. We didn't even have a tree down, like so many. Only, later the electric people would come and take down some limbs in the back yard to litter the place up. BTW, we are still picking up sticks and limbs.
The boyfriend and I are pretty much out of the loop on a lot of citywide stuff, evidently.
Not sure I'm prepared for Spring weather.
Usually, I try to have lots of water saved, some protein snacks to get to in the basement. Best to get to Dollar Tree and see what I can find. And here I was thrilled I'd found rocks at the Dollar Tree. I rarely think of the important stuff I should be getting.
