Funny, he could be a Cassanova when he wanted to be or a butthead like now. Of course, his friend Manny was still here and they had to be friendly with her brother and Ellie's ex every Sunday evening. Other than that, it seemed one day was like another even if South and North Korea were making amends.
Violet didn't believe that either. She was loyal to Nico, yet she didn't have the faith she wanted to have in him.
Sometimes, she felt like beating him up and she was sure to win. Possibly, that was why she let it go. It was useless to argue. Because, when he wanted to be sweet..he was truly genuine. His lips were like candy.
Maybe he had personality problems. Oh, the things she could dream up about him. He was far more than a boy who ran a Noodle Shop.
"Just when are we going to see Kiaro?" She looked at him as if it took him forever to do anything.
Of course, it didn't take long when he really wanted something. She was certain sex should last more than ten minutes. Not that she was timing him, but it had crossed her mind.
It wasn't that way with her and Nico. Violet stopped complaining because he was not meant to be rushed. Lord knows, there were no long talks about past relations with old lovers.
She'd tried to tell him that she wasn't a virgin, but she doubted he'd ever figure it out. Maybe it was best not to go down that path. It would do nothing for their romance, she was certain.
If only she knew if they were close or not. Perhaps this was it. Her existence with a grumpy twenty-something on his way to being a grumpy old man. It was a sad future for sure.
She reached for a hard candy caramel from New York City. He tilted his head as if she were supposed to leave it alone until a special occasion arrived. That might not be until Christmas which was a long way off.
It was true, after all this time, Violet was beginning to hate Nico as much as she loved him.
