Manny & Wren

Wren was not impressed. So what about the green tea fields, she didn't care. It was true she was born and bred in the city. Still Ellie's friend was happy to know her. As if knowing Wren would be like communicating with Ellie.

Wren thought it was sad that Ellie grew up in the sticks. To have to sleep outside, to never have a bed. It might as well have been slavery of the land in Wren's eyes.

Still, she found herself stuck to Manny like glue. Funny, they hadn't spent that much time together until now.

Of course, he had to act all tough, but she knew it wasn't that way. He was actually kind.

But it didn't help to have Kenzo around. He seemed to always be on Manny's case. After the long drive there, Wren finally said her peace to Kenzo about how he treated Manny as if he were a sponge of some kind.

"Why don't you find someone on the Internet." She fussed.

Kenzo's face was snide by her remark. She thought he might stomp her toes in the flip-flops she wore.

"What? He's not your boyfriend?" Kenzo winced.

"Somebody has to help him." She told him.

Kenzo shook with laughter. "You two deserve each other." Those were the last words he said to her, but at least he wasn't complaining about Manny.

Naturally, she held Manny's hand, where ever they went.
