Pixie & Frankie

What's it like being around your childhood friend now?

FRANKIE: Um, she was always Pix, who had her own way of doing things. A little messy, but she found the fun in everything. I used to like that about her, but then I felt she depended too much on fun. (He catches the corner of his bottom lip to keep from laughing. He sighs). I want to help her, but I don't want to be an enabler, either. PIXIE: Oh, he's exactly the same. (Pixie is wide eyed and smiles and then sighs) He's by the book you know. Mr. Perfect who goes by every rule. He's no fun at all. I didn't want to come. I really didn't..but he'd said early on when he moved here that I could come and he'd help me..if I needed help. (She hugs herself) Do you think I want to be here? (She shrugs). No. Absolutely not. But..he truly is my last resort.

  1. It's funny how Pixie says that Frankie is no fun at all and that she didn't want to come stay with him! And how Frankie says that Pixie depends too much on fun. I've heard of people who are too fond of a good time, but I like the way you describe it as a dependence, like a crutch or addiction. It really gives a complete picture of who Frankie thinks Pixie is.

By the way, I'm sorry that your fave library tee candidate didn't win the contest. I think that "FAROUT SINCE 1975" sounds badass. :)
