You're my Sky

Part of what makes this BL drama work (from Thailand) is the clumsiness of it. Although, it features a great back story of two boys and the love of basketball. How the younger one always looked up to the boy who freed him from his uncle's little grocery store. And how they had to meet again in college so the younger one could inspire him to go on his path of the sport since he is starting to think basketball wasn't as important as it used to be.

The story focuses on a first-year student Thorn who has been secretly in love with the College Jock Tupfah. As they both train together, Thorn slowly falls for the handsome Tupfah and despite his close friend’s warnings, one day confesses his love. Tupfah who is highly competitive and doesn’t trust anyone easily, wants to focus on his game instead. Will Thorn be able to bridge the distance and melt Tupfah’s heart?

Actually, the side stories are just as good as the main story. One, in particular, is about a runner who falls for his sister's boyfriend..or was it the boyfriend who fell for him?

The first episode is so unique. You get a glimpse of the culture there. Especially academically and for athletes. Also, It was fun to see how the whole school has its unity for academics and athletics. I like the character development in this drama. It might not have the skinship some might be looking for, but the stories are real and it has a lot of heart. Now on Viki!

  3. You're My Sky is a lovely title -- and so apropos for a story about love and basketball! Character-driven movies are always the best. :)
