Oh the holidays...

Do you ever make drinks for the holidays? Oh, the Moscow Mule has been trending it seems the last few years. I've never had one. There was a time I made my own Kahlua which was from a family recipe. And someone who had just turned of age for drinking loved consuming White Russians.

Naturally, you want to drink responsibly. But sometimes, you don't know just how a guest might be polluted before they ever got there. One year, someone who had been smoking meat and drinking a good bit of beer all day had not eaten. Of course, they drank more. By the time dinner was over he was wanting to fight his brother who really had nothing to fight about and was in total shock that the scene was actually happening. Thankfully, that has not happened again.

From what I see in the stores' vodkas, gins and even whiskey are in all sorts of flavors now. Of course, it will cost you. I have been told by family that my margaritas are too potent to drink. So I don't ever share those anymore.

Of course, I come from a family who swears they can hold their liquor. Maybe so. I mean, no one faints from low blood sugar.  Especially, when there are all those pies to consume. Anyway, stay hydrated. Always have extra water on hand.

Yes, it's the start of lots of merriment. And it starts with Thanksgiving.
