Sara almost jumped out of her skin when he heard Miss Olivia horrifying scream. Sara was beginning to think Oliva was her stepmother's twin. It was the main reason she found this place, to get away from her father's new family.
Nothing went off unexpectedly when Sara got to the boarding house. It was pretty much standard. So no one said she couldn't have her hedgehog.
Sara and the owner of the boarding house both looked a bit shocked and dismayed over the discovery.
"You've scared Harry." Sara couldn't help but frown. Harry couldn't survive with all those children around at her father's house. Besides, Sara was spending her winter here. She was in a university study on the beach and even some part-time work offshore with the Coast Guard. It was a college credit and a good chance to work for the Coast Guard full-time. It was all in the works. That was why she needed a room at the boarding house. She was trying her best to be a grown-up. However, she'd always had Harry to count on. She got him when she got her first CD of One Direction's UP ALL NIGHT back in 2011. Yes, she was very good at taking care of Harry and now Sara was just a Harry Style's fan.
"Well, keep that thing contained!" Olivia pointed at the varment in his cage.
"He's not going anywhere," Sara told her he was a meek little fellow. She put him up on the shelf she'd brought. She was trying to make him feel at home. He was always on this shelf.
"You promise?" Olivia looked at her wide-eyed. She was clad in what looked like loungewear. Naturally, Olivia was flaunting her assets. However, Sara wasn't sure Olivia needed to dress this way around her.
Sara sort of had a boyfriend. Only they'd never met in person. She didn't even know what he looked like, but they always e-mailed each other. Chase lived on the West Coast. Yes, maybe Sara was more old schooled than she thought and now she was having to make promises.
Olivia mentioned the cat. There was a cat around here. Sara hadn't seen it, and she wasn't worried. She would definitely lock her door. Of course, it was a relief as soon as Olivia left even if she was in a huff about Harry being here.
Sara laid across her plush bed, happy to be all on her own. She yawned as if she needed a power nap.
Soon enough, knocks came to the door. It was Mina and Pensely. They'd heard the ruckus. They wanted to know what it was about. Sara retrieved Harry, but she left him in his little home. He didn't like being held, but he let the girls look.
"Oh, he's so adorable," Mina smiled with a light giggle.
Sara told the young women how long she'd had Harry. Sara imagined they all had to be about the same age. Mina was Asian and Penley looked very artistic with her braids and elegant figure.
"I didn't even know hedgehogs lived that long," Penley mused at him and asked of Sara's secrets of taking care of the sweet creature.
"Oh, he likes classical music," Sara nodded as Penley handed back Harry.
"Classical music!" Penely clasped her hands. Her smile was open. "Maybe he'd like to listen to my music, sometime."
"Oh, I couldn't," Sara said even if she loved the idea. "I promised I would follow the rules."
"Speaking of which," Mina said on the sly as dinner would be here soon. "Let's go out for fish tacos instead."
Sara chuckled and so did Penley. She wasn't sure if they were celebrating being a trio at the boarding house or in retaliation.
The boarding house is filling up nicely! I'm going to work on a Mina post. I like sara.
