I like being home alone because I can bathe without interruptions since I live in a madhouse of siblings. After all, it is a rare treat to have some time to myself while everyone else heads to the ball game. If only I had known that Neill would show up out of the blue, I was furious to see that nerdy guy. But he had other plans with an experiment that he told me was out of this world and I was chosen to see if it would work. All I had to do was take his hand and walk through the portal in his backyard that he had been building for the last four years and I promptly told him no, slamming the door.
