Random RP - Maeson & Rola get super powers

Honestly, it wasn't the sleep pod Maeson & Rola were dreaming about, but they'd traveled by bus, then train, just to get a glimpse of Godzilla peaking between buildings.

Still, the noodles were hot, and although the boiled egg looked uncooked, they dove in with zest at the tasty meal in the Nescafe sleep pod. They could have all the coffee they wanted. Unfortunately, there was only one chair so they had to squeeze into it in the tiny room.

Rola immediately turned on the fan.

"Why would you do that?" Maeson winced as if she were being unfair.

"It's stuffy in here," she snarled back at him, honing in on the noodles while leaving him the veg. Thank God, he got the caramel waffles or he might never suffice.

He didn't think two people should be in here, but Rola wouldn't spend money on her own pod. She said it made her claustrophobic. "And this doesn't?"

Maeson shook his head. Whatever made him think they'd ever be travel geeks? Rola got woozy at the slightest hint of excitement. He should never have invited her, but then again, she was the only one who would ever show up for his study group back at the University. It took them four years to save up the money for this trip, and neither was going to miss it.

Soon enough, they were ready for the creamy coffee from the little machine. It took four of the Keurig containers to make two cups of coffee. They knew they'd need it for their next round of travel.

He pulled out the waffles in a paper bag. The puffy waffles were barely warm, but still sweet with caramel and other fragrant spices he was not familiar with.

"Um, I wish you'd bought more of these," Rola smiled as if she was in love with the desert.

"Remember, we're on a budget."

"Budget...budget!" she pouted. "That's all you think about."

"Just enjoy it, will you?" Maeson festered a frown as if he hoped he never saw her again after they got back to the University.

After a few moments of bliss with each bite, and taking turns to go to the bathroom to clean up, they ended up hugging each other so they could fit in the soft chair for a good, long nap.

Next thing he knew, a voice came on the intercom to tell them they had five minutes to get out of the chamber. He looked around the dismal cube. He turned the fan back on to air it out. Yes, they reeked of their own sweat.

Maeson was certain it was Rola's doing. She was a hot, nerdy girl who always wanted to be right. They might as well have been an old married couple.

"Let's get going," Maeson said, getting her up. She was sluggish. Not at all like she was at the University, who was always up for a roleplay or a spelling bee.

Rola nodded, still with a head full of sleep. He gathered their backpacks and charged phones. It was time to depart for their next adventure. But little did he know how the floor would shake once they got out of the pod.

"What's going on?" Rola winced.

"Earthquake?" He shrugged, trying his best not to show he was frightened.

He took another step. The floor shook quickly. She took a step. It shook again.

"What the hell?" His eyes sprang open. "I think it's you."

"No, it's not," she protested, grabbing him by the waist. "It's you!"

Maeson shook his head, no. Just then, they heard a scream. People started to run. They hid behind the pod so as not to get run over.

"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Maeson turned to her.

"Godzilla?"

There was a crack in the wall exposing some scaly and green. They could see its tough feet, which surprised them. "What are you going to do?"

Rola didn't wait for an answer. She'd always had a thing for the big monster. After all, she was the one who had wanted them to go to the largest lake in Japan to be near the monster. Soon enough, she had him in her sights, and Godzilla stood still.

Maeson didn't know what to make of Rola's power.

"Use your mind, butthead!" She said to Maeson

"My mind?" Maeson was baffled, but soon enough he could see what she was thinking. No way, he thought it could be possible, but he squinted his eyes shut. His teeth gnashed. They would put the monster back in the lake where he belonged.
