Maeson & Rola part 2

After Maeson and Rola put their heads together (a big brain thought process indeed!) they managed to get gigantic Godzilla back into the lake as if it were a calming bath, and after a while, he or she went to sleep into a statue state.

"How did you two do it?" The reporter asked from Tokyo Today.

Naturally, Rola was a little out of it, in front of the cameras. She began to sweat profusely, and Maeson kept wanting to look elsewhere.

"We don't really know," Maeson replied with a shrug.

"We'd been in the sleep pod for several hours," Rola managed to recount the hours before meeting fierce Godzilla. "I've always wanted to meet Godzilla."

"Maybe..maybe we had a connection," Maeson nodded.

"Yes, I feel we have a solid connection," Rola was solemn about it as if she dared to speak anymore."I always felt Godzilla existed."

Of course, they were only thinking of getting to the Godzilla motel and staying the night when they were in the sleep pod. Little did they know that Godzilla might be looking for them.

They were praised once again for their efforts for putting Godzilla to rest. Lately, the old monster didn't get out much. It was a Catch-22 scenario, but Maeson was glad the reporter hadn't focused on that.

After the interview, Rola must have drank a gallon of water. Maeson watched her as if maybe she might morph into something ugly. Thankfully, she remained her nerdy self.

It wasn't until after they got back to the hotel that Rola confessed, "I think Godzilla is trying to give us her power."

"Her power?" Maeson squinted.

"Yes, she's getting old and she wants everyone to know that she is more than an awkward oversized lizard that never got a chance to be who she really wanted to be," Rola explained but of course, Maeson didn't understand.

"She has strength, but she didn't know how to used it for good, like she wanted."

Maeson nodded.

"You know, we're her biggest fans."

"But, we..well, we never started out to be that like that," Maeson reminded her they hadn't had a fan club or written a book about Godzilla.

"Precisely," Rola looked at him blankly. "She wanted someone she could trust, and she knows we'll use her power for good."

"But what is our power, exactly?"

Maeson looked at her a bit puzzled.

"Let's go fight crime and find out!" Rola looked ready for action, even in the best outfit she owned.

"But I'm hungry," Maeson said they hadn't eaten all day. Why did hunger have to get in the way?

"OK, you're right, first we'll try those fast food places in the lobby." Rola nodded. Oh, she always had to have something sweet before she could fly.

  2. My husband knows I always carry snacks, and will surprise me with things on the countertop to throw in my bag as I'm running out the door. I always have to eat first, or have snacks, or else I'm not the most fun person to be around. Great read.
