I may be out of my element .... on so many things.
I started the job at the assisted living place. Mostly, I let people in. Sometimes, I have to let them out, too, like a family who can't remember the code. I can't even remember the code.
See, it's a place where you can lose track of time. You know, someone just wants to visit. Another is acting like you should have had that done yesterday. Yeah, it's like I have a little heart attack every day..and they want me to keep the library organized too.
This is where Ezra comes in. I guess. Evidently. I mean, the moment I called about the library room, he was there in ten minutes. (I guess I need an E-Bike now, but I have a feeling Ezra would have to teach me what to do).
Oh, I shouldn't have called him. I know that now, but I didn't know it then. He also brought me a refreshing cherry limeade. And it wasn't long until we got down to business about the books in the little room where you can have coffee and snacks with family or read a book if you choose.
Yeah, we have a lot of Daniel Steele and Nora Roberts books. Donations, evidently. So he was helpful, and you know, Ezra the nerd (well, that's what Fiona calls him) is rather nifty and ...Can I use the term sweet?
He did make me laugh. Supposedly, I made him laugh. God, I want to cringe at what a laughfest we had going on.
Jesus, this is crazy..totally crazy. The heat must be getting to me. That's it. That has to be it. Of course, it was my best day of work so far. What can I say? I wish Ezra were there every day. Yes, he even gave me a lift home. And it felt like a new kind of freedom, being on our own making our own kind of movie. ( I have to stop thinking about it. This just isn't me.)
If only Fiona knew. I hope she never finds out. She can't. She won't.
Oh, if that was all there was to it. I'm beginning to sound like a middle schooler with Spring Fever. Except it's a heat wave of humidity, and I'm practically twenty-four, so I should stop this nonsense.
But then again, it's been a dry spell. Downright a desert. I never dated in the city, actually. Okay, maybe I did, but now I'm not sure if that counts. And really, it doesn't count with Ezra, but there was this thing he wanted to do.
Sigh.
It was really nothing, but I can't stop thinking about it.
Interesting
