Crystal Claus

"Oh, Dad!" Crystal was in no mood to go anywhere with her father. Especially, on Christmas Eve. After all, she was going to elope with somebody from a K-pop band who was just as isolated and lonely as she was. V had just as many issues as she did with family and friends. No one understood him like she did.

Yes, his letters left her swooning, and he told her he was the guy who smiled when he read her letters. They had a very old fashion romance, and evidently it hadn't been exposed until now.  She was certain top elf Smed told her dad everything.

"Nope, you're with me." Dear old Santa Dad informed her.

He didn't look so innocent like he was with his legions of fans, Santa was just being a bad dad at the moment. It left Crystal in a huff as she hugged herself, donned in her red sweater dress and furry black boots.

"Haven't you heard anything from Chris?" This was his job, but he hadn't been the same since Miley Cyrus filled his dreams. Chris hoped she'd notice him at one of her concerts, but she was with some musician now. Chris didn't even have a chance. Crystal was certain he was in Margaritaville.

"That's a lost cause," her father scowled as he went to check on Rudolph and the gang.

Crystal didn't think she could get out of this one. Usually, she was home this time of year, babysitting the elf babies while the factory workers celebrated with sweet mead that sometimes left them mean. Of course, there was that lactose-intolerant thing, and usually they were lined up for the can. They just couldn't keep their shit together for the long-awaited holiday.

Of course, Crystal was just a nobody. She wasn't on anyone's radar. Let's say she was put on the shelf long ago. Not quite a princess. Just somebody nobody really talked about.

"Honey, you know, I think the world of you," her dad came back to the sleigh where he'd put her under that spell of him.

"Don't you Honey me," Crystal protested in a pout. She was too angry to even shed a tear.

"Now you know, it's not about us, tonight. It's about the joy of those who need our Christmas cheer." He told her.

He cracked the reins and did his spill of getting this train going with his beautiful crew of reindeer. They were off into space in no time.

Crystal looked down, she was really leaving with him. She shivered at the thought as the cold winter's night brushed across her ivory face.

"Look, I'll have you in Seoul before dawn," her dad said, looking a little perturbed. "You might find someone else with a happier face."

Crystal pressed a smile. She didn't think so.
