The Freelance Whales are showing us the beauty of their maturity in this latest album that came out in October. If you are a fan, you are certainly in for a treat. Dig into Waves has an uncanny magic to it. The more I listen to the CD, the more it makes me happy that I found their music.
It's a different sound for sure, but it still fits them well. It's a bit haunting almost, but the album as a whole has a very cohesive feel to it. They do keep many of their stylish bits from Weathervanes, but they're not quite as prominent.-Blake |
I listened to Freelance Whales first album for probably 3 weeks straight when I first bought it. I didn't think I could like any album more. UNTIL Diluvia came out a few weeks ago. I couldn't stop listening to it. I STILL can't stop listening to it. There's a sort of ethereal quality to all of their music, but at the same time, there's plenty of whimsy and a few really cool beats you can dance to, too.-Aqu |
