The Go-Getter (2007)

Who wouldn't want to see a film starring Lou Taylor Pucci and Zooey Deschenal? Right? They are seriously adorable together. But getting them together..well..that takes some doing.

Lou's Mercer is going through something. His mother has died and he decides to take off to find his older half brother. But..he doesn't have a car, so he steals (Zooey) Kate's car at a carwash. An unlikely romance starts up when he finds her cell phone in the car and she calls him. Its like she's almost there with those sweet conversations.

Yet in reality, Mercer stops to find an old school friend Jenna Malone, not far from Vegas. Oh, things go bad when her friends come in to the picture. Soon Mercer is dreaming he's dancing the "Madison" with Jena and Zooey. If only it could have been like that.

But the story has to take more twist and turns. And one might wonder just where is Mercer getting all his money from on this little roadtrip. At times, you might feel this indie film tried a little too hard. But finally, Kate does show up and their splendid yet awkward romance begins as she helps him find his brother.

Honestly, you'll either adore this film or hate it so much you'll never speak of it, again. At one point, I'm not even sure why he's after his brother, anymore. The story is a sad character study of Mercer. And how we find out..just who was really stalking who as the story progresses. Both characters are flawed and both need the love they find in each other.
