OK..I'm surprised and shocked that Jonathon Rhys Meyers is Dracula in the new NBC drama on Friday night. Actually, I'm so happy about this. I can't think of a better actor up for that role. Except, in this version he's an American in London. What? Can't he at least be British?

PREMISE: Series introduces Dracula as he arrives in London, posing as an American entrepreneur who maintains that he wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. In reality, he hopes to wreak revenge on the people who ruined his life centuries earlier. There's only one circumstance that can potentially thwart his plan: Dracula falls hopelessly in love with a woman who seems to be a reincarnation of his dead wife.

The show starts tonight. I'm glad Meyers isn't afraid of regular TV. Actually, I guess he's not afraid of anything.

The show also stars Katie McGrath as Lucy. Do you remember her on Merlin?

  1. I loved him in that HBO series where he played royalty - he will do well at this too I am sure :)

  2. I don't think it starts tonight..but on the 25th..

  3. This looks great! He has the look down for sure!
