Oh, it's a winner! Starring the soulful and somewhat sorrowful Tan Jian Ci as a profiler artist in the Chinese Drama crime series (a favorite for me this 2022). Of course, it feels just a little out of sync because his character is far different from the usual police drama. You would think they were an inapt crew until he got there to solve cases with his drawings. Nonetheless, you get swept away with the unusual stories of love and loss and so much more.
I had watched him in COURT LADY and of course, I didn't want to like him, but you just can't help yourself. I can't say he's really from a former boy band because he's still a performer. He was in one of the biggest Bromances of the year WINNER IS KING, but it might never be released to Chinese censorship. Of course, his first love might be dance, but in this crime drama, he gets down with a pencil in hand and does his magic.
Of course, China has cut back on its bromances. Some can't even get released these days, due to their crackdown. Evidently, WORD OF HONOR broke the camel's back (so to speak). Lord knows Priest (the queen of bromances) might have fled the country(that's another story entirely). Actually, no one is considered a writer of this series.
Jin Shi Ji plays the cop. Of course, the two main leads don't see eye to eye on anything. Especially, since the back story when they first met did nothing for friendship. But as the story progresses they find their own way to come together through creativity (perhaps). Yet, each case draws you in. And you might find each episode fascinating or the fact how dark the world really is.
Sounds good

This show sounds so cool; I love the idea of diving into the life of a profiler artist. "Solving cases with drawings" sounds exciting and noble. And it's a shame about China's crackdown on bromances. All stories have the right to be told.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, way to rock your blue checked pants, even if -- especially if -- the boss was all in black. :)
