Lowen arrives at the Crawford home, ready to sort through years of Verity's notes and outlines, hoping to find enough material to get her started. What Lowen doesn't expect to uncover in the chaotic office is an unfinished autobiography Verity never intended for anyone to read. Page after page of bone-chilling admissions, including Verity's recollection of what really happened the day her daughter died.
Lowen decides to keep the manuscript hidden from Jeremy, knowing its contents would devastate the already grieving father. But as Lowen's feelings for Jeremy begin to intensify, she recognizes all the ways she could benefit if he were to read his wife's words. After all, no matter how devoted Jeremy is to his injured wife, a truth this horrifying would make it impossible for him to continue to love her.
Not gonna lie, I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with her books. I love the beginnings but somewhere along the way I feel she slips in some preachy vibes I'm not always down with. But it's the twist and turns and fixes these characters get in too that keep me turning the page. Although, some of her characters are more real than others. But then again, she probably has to write for her editors and publishers too. And I have a feeling this is her calling and she's gonna keep her fans wrapped around her little finger.
Sorry it disappointed
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of Colleen Hoover, but this book sounds riveting! You really do have a way with reviews. Plus, your library intel made me laugh: "Also, dunno if they are being read in the bathtub or with a pouty doggie, but her books get damaged a lot."
ReplyDeleteLast but certainly not least, thanks for including my hearts and flowers in your collage! I'm honored to be up there with Ms. Ricci. :)
Oh, I couldn't wait to use those hearts and pink sunflowers too. Thanks ❤️
