HOW DID YOU MEET?

Zoe: Oh, it was really kind of funny. Well, not that funny. I was on the street waiting for a bus, thinking it was too hot and I should have taken the subway. Anyway, I get on the crowded bus. Not a seat in sight and this guy jumps up and gives me his seat (she smiles). Nobody has ever done that for me, before. And he stood by me. I think I said THANK YOU, but I was tired. And..well, we end up at the same bus stop. Which was next to my apartment. And we, you know, kind of chat. I don't find out his name. But he says he lives there too. Which I was in shock. I don't really know anyone in my building, actually. So we start talking. We end up getting food at a foodtruck nearby. It was like we didn't want to say goodbye. Really, I just knew I wanted to be around him.

Chase: Oh, the moment I saw her. I just knew. I wanted to know her. I wasn't sure how since I'm not really the dating kind of guy. I mean. I don't date. I've been set up a few times..which ended badly (he grits a smile). My sister doesn't think I'm dateable. I mean. I spend a lot of time on my laptop, writing. I know people online. I have friends. Even if she doesn't think so. Cause, I never go out with any of those friends. Anyway, Zoe just seemed like this really sweet person. And well..it kind of turned into a date. (he shrugs)

What was your first impression of each other?

Zoe: Oh, I thought he was kind of cool. (she smiles) And you know. Nice. I liked his hair. I thought he dressed casual, but really well. I liked that about him. And he asked me if I'd had dinner and well... (she laughs) The rest is history.

Chase: Yeah, we had a good chat. I dunno if I could even tell you what we talked about. I was a little nervous. She was, you know, so serious. It wasn't like a game of twenty questions, or anything. I just know..went with..oh, how was your day? She looked a little tired. I knew she was hard working. I didn't mind buying her something. We just had burritos and horchitas. It was nice to just be there. And you know, get to know her. And..I found out we live in the same building. Just different floors.
