Our celebration was on Christmas Eve. It was just going to be a 10 a.m. thing, but then one of the couples didn't show up til 11:30.
There were pie-baking troubles which I didn't realize until later. Still it was a lovely cranberry apple crumb pie. She hadn't used the new oven yet at their place. Meanwhile, there were bats to take care of at their place too. Something they were hoping wouldn't show up. They thought that had all been taken care of.
Of course, presents had to be opened. Before we knew it, some were off, putting a dollhouse together. With lots of finger foods to munch on, we didn't get home until after two. Naturally, there are very tiring foods to eat over the veggie tray, and of course, that meant nap time.
Oh, and the other story, the snow. Ugh. We barely made it to ZERO that day. The winds kicked in. Yes, it was feeling like Alaska on a true winter's day. Yesterday was quiet and our warmest temps were in the twenties that came around midnight. I worked on a few crochet projects and chilled in front of the TV with more of HIGH KICK series.
Hope your holidays are off to a good start!
Yes it is still so cold here and my mailbox is frozen
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas! Hope you had a great one. It's been quiet here since Christmas Eve too. And the snow! Very slippery.
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better!
Me alegro que hayas tenido una buena navidad. Te mando un beso. https://enamoradadelasletras.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteSounds like an interesting time! That's crazy about your friends with the bats. You'd think they'd all be frozen or hibernating or whatever (I don't know that much about bats). There's something about a dollhouse on Christmas, though, right? My niece got one too and had us cracking up because she said one of the dolls in it didn't belong there. I have to say, though, crocheting in front of the TV kind of sounds like the best part. It's peaceful and cozy, just like your title says. 😀🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
