About now, I want to be done with Christmas. Truly, it's like waiting to see if it will happen. Last year many got sick in the family and we forgot about Christmas.
I heard from one in the family how she didn't buy anyone anything for Christmas, except the cousin who precisely said, "You better give me a gift card from Amazon." Now I feel she must have hated all the presents I presented her. Oh well..
It was not my favorite Christmas last year. Although, when it happened, I was OK..but it hit me sometime in January that I didn't get to see anyone. Now as I write this, I keep thinking..I'm not coming down with something..am I? It's these kinds of things that can really make yourself sick..so yeah, better to keep going. Although, some of the presents I bought early are somewhere in this tornado of mine and I might find them by Valentines Day.
Of course, I have been told by someone (my nearest and dearest who won't get out of my way) he doesn't want anything for Christmas..which actually means, "Where are my gift cards?"
Yes, I dream of making fudge. Yet I have nightmares of tasting it and instantly throwing it up too. Oh, the torture of the holidays.
I burned chocolate melting it in the microwave...smoke and nightmares yes

ReplyDeleteInteresting. People who say they don't want anything...always do huh!
ReplyDeleteI hear you, Ellie. The holidays are no picnic! The gifting especially can get weird, what with making sure everything's "even." Not to mention insulting people by not getting them a gift, or by getting them a gift when they didn't want one. It's a wonder we haven't chucked this tradition by now! But then it's the big day and I see the decorations and eat some cookies and think, okay, there's still magic here. That said, I hope you feel better -- and that your cough goes away by Christmas! 🎄💖😀
