The Law of Quiet offers no mercy to those who break it. Death, or worse, waits as punishment.

It’d take a moment of absolute stupidity or desperation for Lauren to expose her feathers. She’s an adrenaline junkie, sure, but she isn’t stupid. She finds her thrills street racing instead of diving through clouds.

Nona has no idea that magic exists. Aside from her job as a nature guide, she lives a mundane life. Bills to pay, a kid to raise, an ex to battle.

But then life happens and both of theirs are turned upside down.

Not long ago, I got to meet J.M. Barrows at our library. The Law ot the Quiet is her debut novel. 

I really enjoyed the rhythm of the novel. I felt she has some wonderful characters too who have been through enough that one can relate to. Hopefully, there will be book two. Really, the author has a solid foundation. The premise has a lot going for it. 

It was great to speak with her and I felt she was so inspiring. Yes, it's a lesbian story with enough grit and adventure that takes you on a journey you are sure to enjoy.
