Fan & Ollie

OK..I couldn't say "I don't want to go." I would have broken Onnie's heart. I winced back with a SURE and a big smile.

Of course, I wanted to be there for Niagra Falls with her and ..um..what was his name again?

"I'll ask the boy," I shrugged. Chances were, he couldn't go. After all, Ollie lived in the attic of an old theater. Some Old timer let him live there free by doing jobs at the theater..so yeah, me and the freeloader. "I bet he's never been out of New York City," I wanted to say.

Also, there was that other thing I had noticed in his wee little flat. Um, there was a photo of him and Elliot (aka Allie). Of course, I wondered what that was about, but I didn't ask. When he wanted to tell me, he would.

In my mind exploded with all sorts of scenarios. I mean..were they..perhaps a couple?

Of course, he had nothing good to say about Allie, and well, Allie was off doing follies with her friends and you know, I only saw her occasionally at the Uni. And she won't come around if she sees me with him.

I don't know, my mind was racing and I had to get ready for this out-of-town trip...

"We'll take the train," Onnie was ready to go by midnight. "We'll wake up in Niagra Falls." Yes,  she lead the way and naturally, Ollie showed up as if he was sure to do whatever I asked.

"I don't remember you ever being this way," I said while we were on our late-night ride. "I'm only following my lead." He put his arm around me. He'd do whatever Onnie's man was up to. He whispered in my ear that it was going to be the best trip ever.

Well, I was funding it. It wasn't like he had to do a thing. Soon we found our sleep compartment. Onnie and Jonah took one side and we took the other. Yes, it was close quarters and they were having such a fun time keeping each other company.

"Now remember, everyone shall keep their clothes on!" Onnie's very last words.

I sighed after Ollie got in bed first. It felt as if we were doomed. "I bet this is the way they did it in the old days," Ollie whispered. I looked back at him as if this was no time for a story, but of course, he had to bring up how some cultures had it where you slept with other people long before they became a couple.

"This is different," but before I knew it, he had one of his leg wrapped around my middle.

"Just be calm, it won't be that bad," he told me, but it was as if he knew I wanted to know exactly what they were doing. I was turned from him and he gave the most wicked razer burn kiss on my cheek. I winced hard. For a moment I thought we were digging a tunnel under the covers. Somehow Ollie got on my side and I was next to the window. I tried my best to stay calm and somehow I ended up falling asleep in his arms.

Onnie was right, we awoke at Niagara Falls. Except on a serious note, "I don't have a thing to wear." Ollie shushed me before I could even breathe. He was in his black jockies and we weren't going anywhere very fast.

"What do you mean?" I asked after the other two went on their way to get coffee.

"I just didn't have time, to ..you know..pack." He sat up and reached for his jeans crumpled on the floor.

I sat up to look for my backpack. He handed it to me. Before I could brush my teeth he was using my toothbrush.

"I forgot one of those too."

Oh, I gave him a look. It wasn't long until they brought us complimentary coffee and an egg sandwich.

"We gotta get going, guys," Jonah told us. So we hurried on to catch a bus to get to the falls.

It was a beautiful sunny day. Possibly a chill of winter still in the air. After all, we might as well have been in Canada.

"Oh, I wish we could go there," Onnie chatted. Naturally, Jonah said nonsense and we should just enjoy the moment.

It was a breathtaking view. And lots of photo opts. There were trails to walk, ways to be splashed by the falls, and well, more breath-taking views. Of course, the boys climbed up on a rock where the kiddies could play and almost got us in trouble.

"It's great seeing them getting along," Onnie smiled at me as if we might be their mothers. After a feast of fast food, we decide to go our separate ways for a few hours.

"I know of a place we could stay tonight that wouldn't break the bank," Ollie said.

"Oh really?"  What was he up to?

"Yeah, a park nearby," he nodded. "All the rage in Europe and Asia these days. You spend the night in a camper. It's like you go camping without having to do the work."

Of course, Onnie and Jonah smiled at that. "We could let you guys stay in your own camper tonight." Ollie kept grinning. I just wanted to slap him in the back of the head. He'd left out who was paying for this.

So they went on to enjoy the sights and we headed to the place he talked of. Of course, he'd told them he would make dinner too. One more thing I had to roll my eyes about. Before it was over, getting the bill settled for the night along with the keys, we ended up at the grocery store, getting a roasted chicken, mashed potatoes and veggies.

"I think you have a hankering for a homecooked meal," I said. Of course, we couldn't forget about the cream pie.

Of course, he was mute. I didn't know what he was thinking, but he sure liked my help.

"I wish you weren't so afraid of me," he said when we got back and the food put away. "I know ..I know we aren't lovebirds like they are..but you.." He shook his head. "I don't mean to frighten you."

I just chuckled.

"But you're a man of mystery, you like it that way," I told him.

"You, are just as mysterious," he gave me the eye.  Oh, we might have had a spat if Jonah and Onnie hadn't shown up when they did.

Of course, their place was just across from us. "I hear there's a dance tonight, Onnie told me."

"Really?" Just what I needed a dance, too.

"Jonah found out about it. It's at the rec center." She told me.

"Well, at least it's nothing fancy." Now I had nothing to wear. After all, Ollie already had on my hoodie.

"Oh, it's always fancy when you dress up for your man," Onnie grinned.

I pressed my lips tight to keep from laughing. Maybe I would learn a thing or two from her yet.

  2. What an exciting and mysterious trip! Also mysterious is the connection between Ollie and Elliot (aka Allie). There's a lot to unpack here (pun intended).

I love the anime hoodie in the collage! 💖💚🎀✨
