Beach House 🌸 Rachel

Rachel was a bit frazzled. Of course, her brother annoyed her as usual with a text, "Having fun yet?" That's when he told her their mom had a new boyfriend who had a boat. Her brother had the whole house to himself. "Don't you wish you were here?"

She was steamed when she read it and of course, Huck asked what was the matter.

"It's nothing." She was closed mouth. She knew if she started in about her family she might monopolize the whole conversation and she knew Huck didn't want to hear about her family.

At least the place looked decent enough, she'd done plenty of moping. "When is this guy going to get here?"

"Who knows," Huck shrugged and then he got a text from Lenny saying he was on the beach.

"Damn him," Huck didn't look pleased. "Better suit up. You can come if you want."

Of course, Rachel didn't know if she was supposed to dress a certain way. Of course, he said she looked fine in her cutoffs and tee, but he changed into a surfer suit. Evidently, surfers didn't go into the ocean bare-skinned anymore.

She followed because Huck seemed to know where Lenny was and of course, Lenny was already on the waves. As it was, Lenny brought him a particular board. It had brought him luck.

"Better not tell Cobie about his," Huck looked it over. His hair whipped about in the ocean air. "You know, he only wants me using gear from the shop."

"Oh, you've always been an advertisement," Lenny grinned. He looked over his shoulder and finally noticed Rachel. "And who is this fair lady?" His smile made Rachel a little woozy, feeling totally overdressed. After all, Lenny shimmed out of the wet suit and exposed a body that Rachel couldn't take her eyes off.

"That's Rachel, she's at the beach house this summer." Huck squinted.

"I'm at the shop too," she nodded barely knowing how to stand in the ocean wind giving her Medusa locks dancing in the wind. She wasn't sure what she was supposed to be doing.

"Poor kid," He shook his head. She watched his curls wave about she did her best not to look at his fit abs.

She could hear her brother now, "Are you enjoying the show, sis?" Rachel kept straight-lipped but Lenny went right to her and Huck made an effort to get a head start run then thrust the board in the water and climbed toward the salty waves coming in.

"I bet you're down here a lot," Lenny said with his hands on his hips.

"No, this is actually the first time I've been on the beach," she admitted.

"Oh, hell no." He squinted then. "We are getting you out there, girl." He chuckled. "Today is the day." He gave her a quick nod and went to his sweet white jeep to get her some equipment.

Rachel was practically waving at Huck. "Hurry back!" she motioned to Huck out on the water. "Hurry!"

Huck smiled as if he knew all along that she was his cheerleader and waited for the best wave to come in on.

  2. Fun! Lenny's a hottie apparently and Rach seems a little starstruck. :) Next they'll be getting her surfing!

  3. Oh, this Lenny is something! I love Rachel's response to him: " . . .she nodded barely knowing how to stand in the ocean wind giving her Medusa locks dancing in the wind." Your description is so lyrical yet poignant, letting us know what a magical/painful moment this is for Rachel. I wonder how Lenny will affect the dynamic between Rachel and Huck . . . πŸ˜πŸŒŠπŸŒžπŸ‘™πŸŒˆπŸ”₯
